Properties of Polyethylene Bags


PE is the abbreviation of polyethylene, a kind of thermoplastic resin made by polymerization of ethylene. In industry, also includes ethylene and a small amount of α-olefin copolymer; is a transparent plastic bag, can be used for clothing, bags, electronic products and other packaging.

Polyethylene, with excellent low-temperature resistance (minimum use temperature can reach -70~-100℃), good chemical stability, resistance to most of the acid and alkali erosion (not resistant to the oxidation of acid), at room temperature insoluble in the general solvents, water absorption is small, electrical insulation performance is excellent, but polyethylene for environmental stress (chemical and mechanical action) is very sensitive, thermal aging resistance is poor. The properties of polyethylene vary depending on the molecular structure and density. The products of different densities (0.91~0.96g/cm3) can be produced by using different production methods. Polyethylene can be used in general thermoplastic plastic molding methods (see plastic processing) processing.
